Role of atrial pressure in the success of electrical cardioversion of chronic atrial fibrillation
In 40 patients with chronic long-standing atrial fibrillation, we investigated the effects of hemodynamic variables on the initial success of transthoracic electrical cardioversion. It was found that left atrial pressure measured as pulmonary capillary wedge pressure was the most powerful predictor...

Zusammenfassung: | In 40 patients with chronic long-standing atrial fibrillation, we investigated the effects of hemodynamic variables on the initial success of transthoracic electrical cardioversion. It was found that left atrial pressure measured as pulmonary capillary wedge pressure was the most powerful predictor of the initial success of cardioversion and elevated left atrial pressure significantly decreased the success rate. |
