Usefulness of exercise tomographic myocardial perfusion imaging for detection of restenosis after coronary stent implantation

One hundred seven vascular territories with implanted coronary stents in native coronary arteries were evaluated prospectively by single-photon emission tomography (SPECT) technetium-99m (Tc-99m)-tetrofosmin scintigraphy from 3 to 6 months after a stenting procedure. Exercise Tc-99m-tetrofosmin SPEC...

Zusammenfassung:One hundred seven vascular territories with implanted coronary stents in native coronary arteries were evaluated prospectively by single-photon emission tomography (SPECT) technetium-99m (Tc-99m)-tetrofosmin scintigraphy from 3 to 6 months after a stenting procedure. Exercise Tc-99m-tetrofosmin SPECT imaging can accurately identify significant restenosis in patients during the early phase after coronary stent implantation, more than angina and electrocardiographic changes during exercise testing.
