Zusammenfassung: | Duplex ultrasound (US) has become the new gold standard in the assessment of acute deep vein thrombosis. In view of the large number of cases with persistent changes, all cases should be reassessed at 6 months to document the extent of residual disease. The role of duplex US in chronic venous disease is less well established but it is evolving as the single most useful examination and is likely to supplant other noninvasive methods in the near future. |
