Zusammenfassung:The use of mega-highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART), defined as the maximal number of drugs at the maximal tolerated doses, seems to provide up to 40% of virologic response during the first 6 months in heavily pretreated individuals. In conclusion, our preliminary data support the use of sequential cyclic therapy in subjects with previous exposure to all available drugs and current virologic failure, providing a better option than mega-HAART, which is costly for long periods of time to most patients and health care providers.
