Zusammenfassung:Tibial Artery Calcification as a Marker of Amputation Risk in Patients With Peripheral Arterial Disease Raul J. Guzman, D. Marshal Brinkley, Paul M. Schumacher, Rafe M. J. Donahue, Holly Beavers, Xiao Qin In patients presenting with symptoms of peripheral arterial disease, the tibial artery calcification score as assessed by multislice computed tomography scan correlates with the category of limb ischemia and predicts the near-term risk of amputation. This association is not diminished by inclusion of traditional risk factors including the ankle-brachial index.
