Zusammenfassung:Bicuspid Aortic Valve Morphology and Interventions in the Young Susan M. Fernandes, Paul Khairy, Stephen P. Sanders, Steven D. Colan Bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) with right-noncoronary leaflet (R-N) fusion is associated with a greater degree of valve dysfunction compared with other subtypes, but the correlation with clinical outcomes is unknown. Our objective was to determine whether a morphologic subtype of BAV is associated with valve intervention in the young. We performed a nested cohort study of 310 patients with bicuspid aortic valve. The R-N fusion was associated with a more rapid progression of aortic stenosis and regurgitation and a greater incidence of valve intervention in the young.
