Zusammenfassung: | Emergency nurses are "spirited survivors" and have earned a reputation as health care professionals who respond to those in need. Many nurses have participated in medical response efforts for the Sep 11, 2001 World Trade Center attacks, the 2004 Tsunami response through Project Hope and USNS Mercy, the 2005 Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita devastations, and most recently, the California wildfires in Oct 2007. In many cases, despite the fact that their own homes and families were impacted by disaster as well, emergency nurses volunteer because that is what they do and who they are. Here, Jagim details how emergency nurses volunteers are organized. |
