Strong Orientation of Polymer Chains and Small Photochromic Molecules in Polyamide 6 Electrospun Fibers

Fiber orientation: Polarized IR spectroscopy experiments show that electrospun polyamide fibers are aligned uniaxially (see figure). When the fibers are doped with photochromic molecules, alignment of the dopant is shown to occur during the electrospinning process.
