Zusammenfassung:Urinary tract infection (UTI) is the most common bacterial infection seen in women, with 6-10% of girls and young women having bacteriuria, while the incidence rises dramatically in the elderly population. For elderly, ambulatory women, the presence of bacteriuria reaches at least 20%; however, women aged 80 years or more reach 25-50% of bacteriuria.
