Seroprevalence of Helicobacter pylori in the adult population of Christchurch : risk factors and relationship to dyspeptic symptoms and iron studies

Determines the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection in subjects randomly selected from the Christchurch population and ascertains the risk factors and symptoms related to the infection. Generates a list of names from the 1996 electoral roll and sequentially contacts subjects who were invited to participate. Completes a questionnaire on dyspeptic symptoms and analyses subjects' serum for H pylori antibodies using the Roche method.
