Zusammenfassung: | From Molecular Science to the Treatment of Allergy Sorry, there is no abstract. Read the first few lines of the text instead! Identification of sites of infection and inflammation using radiolabeled white blood cells (WBC) is limited by the technical difficulties associated with ex vivo cell labeling in the clinical setting [1, 2, 3]. We have developed a leukocyte-avid 23-amino acid 99mTc-labeled peptide (P483) containing the heparin binding region of platelet factor 4 (PF-4) which, when combined with heparin, is associated with human leukocytes in vitro and reveals sites of infection in a rabbit Escherichia coli model within 2 h after injection [4]. We have now tested this approach to infection localization in human studies. |
