Zusammenfassung: | Abstract Pseudo-aneurysms of the ascending aorta are rare complications of aortic root and/or valve surgery and generally, surgical intervention has been advised. In the present case series we follow the natural progression of this condition in eight patients. We conclude that the most obvious predisposing factors for pseudo-aneurysm formation are: 1) Multiple aortic valve/root surgery for infective endocarditis and 2) A spectrum of diseases involving the ascending aortic wall. |
