Zusammenfassung:In a cohort of 67 patients from the Acute Infarction Ramipril Efficacy study, we showed that ramipril therapy was associated with a significant reduction in QT dispersion over a 2-month period after acute myocardial infarction. This reduction of ventricular repolarization inhomogeneity indicates an antiarrhythmic effect and may be an important additional mechanism for the reduced all-cause mortality and sudden death incidence achieved with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibition after acute myocardial infarction.
