Zusammenfassung:Three cases of percutaneous mechanical thrombectomy using the Amplatz thrombectomy device are presented. All cases involve the application of the device in a major thoracic or abdominal vein in situations in which chemothrombolysis was contraindicated. The method of operation of the Amplatz thrombectomy device, as well as a brief overview of its clinical applications, are presented.
