Zusammenfassung: | Myelinated retinal nerve fibers are a congenital anomaly of the ocular fundus. They appear as white or gray patches with irregular feathery borders at the level of the retinal nerve fiber layer. The association of myelinated nerve fibers with myopia and amblyopia is well recognized, and amblyopia in this setting may be refractory to treatment. In previous reports, the eye with myelinated nerve fibers was often highly myopic,1-4 or, if hyperopic, less so than the fellow eye.5,6 We report a case of myelinated nerve fibers associated with amblyopia in the more hyperopic eye. |
