(2007) a Berkovich tip was employed for hardness and Young's modulus measurement. Since the Berkovich tip is even blunter than the Vickers tip, the likelihood that a hardness dependence on load occurred is minute. [...]the use of indentation could be described as a 'leap of faith' in terms of toughness measurement of bone, and it may well be true to say that indentation fracture does not provide the perfect solution.
