Atypical presentation of syphilitic uveitis associated with Kyrieleis plaques

While the precise pathogenesis of Kyrieleis plaques is not know, it has been suggested that they may represent an immunological response to an infectious agent resulting in the deposition of immune cells and/or inflammatory debris within or adjacent to the vessel wall. 7 This is intended to remind the reader that syphilis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of all patients with Kyrieleis plaques.
