Zusammenfassung: | In this report, the case of a 2-month-aged female lamb with obstructive urolithiasis, caused by calculi consisting of calcium-phosphate (apatite), is described. Urolithiasis as an often occurring problem in male sheep rarely emerges in female individuals. This lies mainly on the differences in anatomy between male and female urogenital apparatus. The account of diagnosis, therapy and clinical course in that special case are discussed, along with possible causes of the disease, the etiopathogenesis and recommended prophylactic steps. |
