Zusammenfassung:Because the significance of calcification of the sinotubular junction is poorly understood, we retrospectively investigated its association with aortic atherosclerosis in 101 patients who underwent transesophageal echocardiography. Such calcification was found to be a marker of more severe aortic atherosclerosis and, specifically, aortic arch disease.
