Indonesian eruption: muddy waters

Cyranoski presents information on how a mud volcano destroyed an Indonesian town. It started on May 29, 2006: a small spurt of mud in the middle of a rice paddy. Now the cauldron of hot, bubbling mud is some 50 metres in diameter and rises 16 metres above that long, submerged paddy.
