Tin-Free and Catalytic Radical Cyclizations
H• transfer from CpCr(CO)3H to the kinetically favored double bond of a 1,6-diene can be used to initiate a radical cyclization. The CpCr(CO)3H can be regenerated by a hydrogen atmosphere, making the reaction catalytic as well as tin-free.
