Trouble Below the Surface

Long-term dialysis patients with end-stage renal disease, hyperparathyroidism, and hypercalcemia are vulnerable to calciphylaxis. Burris et al discuss the diagnosis of calciphylaxis in a case of a patient who presented with skin lesions and dyspnea who also had a history of end-stage renal disease.
