Zusammenfassung:	The spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA) can be manifested in neuropsychiatric symptoms. Among 76 SCA patients presenting to a university ataxia center, depressive symptoms characterized SCA3. Memory symptoms occurred across all SCA groups with relative sparing of SCA6. These differences in neuropsychiatric symptoms suggest the subtype of SCA and the corresponding neuropathological involvement.
