Anion-Induced Synthesis and Combinatorial Selection of Polypyrrolic Macrocycles

Stimulating reactions: The anion‐induced synthesis of a new class of 2,6‐diamidopyridine–bipyrrole macrocyclic receptors that undergo combinatorial selection as a result of their interaction with anionic guests has been demonstrated (see picture of the interaction of bipyrrole fragments with a sulfa...

Zusammenfassung:Stimulating reactions: The anion‐induced synthesis of a new class of 2,6‐diamidopyridine–bipyrrole macrocyclic receptors that undergo combinatorial selection as a result of their interaction with anionic guests has been demonstrated (see picture of the interaction of bipyrrole fragments with a sulfate ion). The outcome of this stimulus‐driven reaction bears analogy to recent macrocycle‐forming strategies based on dynamic combinatorial processes.
