Three dammarane-type saponins from Gynostemma pentaphyllum

Abstract Three new dammarane-type saponins, compounds 1 - 3, were isolated from the aerial parts of GYNOSTEMMA PENTAPHYLLUM. Their structures were determined using NMR analysis and acid hydrolysis. The structure and stereochemistry of compound 1 were confirmed by X-ray crystallography.
