Bleeker, Bas L. van der Hoeven, Nico R. van de Veire, Eric Boersma, Eduard R. Holman, Ernst E. van der Wall, Martin J. Schalij, John Gorcsan III, Jeroen J. Bax This study was designed to predict left ventricular (LV) remodeling at 6-month follow-up after acute myocardial infarction. In total, 178 patients presented with acute myocardial infarction and underwent primary percutaneous coronary intervention. LV dyssynchrony, assessed at baseline by speckle-tracking radial strain analysis, was demonstrated to be superior in predicting LV remodeling at 6-month follow-up. Using a cutoff value of 130 ms, a sensitivity of 82% and a specificity of 95% were obtained to predict long-term LV remodeling.
