Zusammenfassung:Calculations of localised SAR in the legs and arms have been performed in a female voxel phantom, NAOMI. A finite difference method was used to solve the quasistatic potential equation from 0.1 to 80 MHz for a unit current injected into a limb. The relationship between limb current and SAR has been investigated. The values of localised SAR in the leg as a function of applied plane wave electric field are also predicted from the knowledge of limb currents calculated by the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method for whole-body exposure. Comparisons are made with the results of previous work for the normalised male model, NORMAN, and the implications for electromagnetic guidelines are discussed.
