Zusammenfassung:MR. BRASSEY, in his opening remarks, said that in order to obtain information, as impartial as possible, he had obtained the assistance of Messrs. Hunt & Stephenson (surveyors), Messrs. Lucas Brothers (the builders), and of Mr. Howell on behalf of the workmen. He also remarked that a review of the fluctuations in prices which had taken place during an extended period, was a most valuable aid in tracing the relations between cause and effect, and in laying down principles for the future guidance of masters and men.
