Zusammenfassung: | [...]we address the challenges of blood pressure control concentrating on risk reduction. 165/90 mm Hg is associated with increased cardiovascular and all-cause mortality only when SBP is >139 mm Hg.23 A retrospective multivariable analysis of treated hypertensive men in France found that SBP >140 mm Hg--but not DBP--was associated with increased risk for cardiovascular mortality.24 This study was particularly interesting because it had a relatively young cohort (mean age 52 ± 11 years) exclusively of treated patients, who may best represent those seen in everyday practice. |
