Zusammenfassung: | Massive hemorrhage from the small intestine is uncommon and often difficult to access. Accordingly, the localization and treatment of bleeding originating in the jejunum or ileum can become a major challenge. A rare case of massive lower gastrointestinal bleeding from jejunal varices in a thalassemia major patient, successfully diagnosed by Tc-99m red blood cell scintigraphy, is described and illustrated in this article. |
