Ondansetron, a selective serotonin-type 3 (5-HT 3 ) receptor antagonist, was used to test the hypothesis that duodenal infusion of isosmotic solutions of Polycose or its hydrolytic product glucose suppressed intake through 5-HT 3 receptors.
