Zusammenfassung:Ford et al examine the nature and strength of the association between serum concentrations of vitamin D and the metabolic syndrome in a large nationally representative sample of the US population. Findings show an inverse association between serum concentrations of vitamin D and the prevalence of the metabolic syndrome, which could be explained by inverse association between concentrations of vitamin D and insulin resistance.
