Zusammenfassung:Background We describe progressive optic neuropathy after recurrent disc hemorrhages in patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma. Cases Three Taiwanese Chinese patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma and recurrent disc hemorrhages were followed for 10 years. Observations Despite good control of intraocular pressure, progressive enlargement of optic disc cupping and visual field defects corresponding to the location of disc hemorrhages were noted after recurrent hemorrhages. Conclusions Disc hemorrhages are not particularly rare in primary angle-closure glaucoma and may be a sign of a poor prognosis.
