Phototriggered Metal-Ion Release from Phenolic Schiff Bases: A System for Metal-Ion Photodelivery

A phototriggered system for metal‐ion release is developed using a phenolic Schiff‐base derivative as ligand (see scheme). It is found that Zn2+ can be completely released from the ligand by using a phototrigger. The metal‐releasing system is also active for other bivalent metal ions.
