Zusammenfassung:Repair champion: The substrate binding and product release of the light‐driven DNA repair enzyme photolyase were followed by a novel fluorescence approach. Unexpectedly, release of repaired nucleobases from the substrate binding pocket appears to be as fast as 50 μs. Moreover, catalytic turnover under strong light is limited by substrate binding and can be more than 100 times faster than previously reported.
