Zusammenfassung: | Cases described in the literature include, among others, excision of a pterygium or pinguecula, cataract extraction, ptosis or strabismus surgery, conjunctival transplantation, and keratoplasty.2 Surgery without sufficient prophylactic measures (e.g., topical heparin) is by itself a potent trigger for the recurrence of ligneous pseudomembranes, which usually reappear within a few days.2 Thus, excisions of pseudomembranes and other manipulations of the ocular membranes of affected patients should be kept to a minimum and--if necessary--accompanied by local treatment. |
