Zusammenfassung: | Palmer discusses the word "fying" within the practice of epistemology. "Fying" is the term derived from the words "for your information" frequently seen on e-mail communications. It would be used generally about the widespread use of e-mail to attribute knowledge to others usually in relation to attempts to share, transfer or avoid responsibility. This in functional terms is a whole new type of knowledge. And the more widespread the practice becomes the more that kind of knowledge becomes separate from more conventional knowledge. So in large and complex organizations such as hospitals and health services, some individuals may find that they are deemed to know swathes of things through epistemology that in fact they do not know in the ordinary sense. |
