Zusammenfassung: | Long excluded from the Art Academies & exhibition spaces, women artists have struggled to have their talents recognized within the art market. Women can now take higher educational courses in Art & form the majority of students at art school. Our research is focused on women art school graduates & their subsequent entry into the labor market. As in most studies on women artists, our findings show how cultural obstacles continue to exert a certain influence on the choice of career path. Women art school graduates thus find it more difficult to find work than their male counterparts & are also more likely to give up trying to make a name within the art market, opting for work that provides them with greater security. Far from considering these women graduates as passive victims of discrimination in the labor market, this article focuses on the rationalism of their career choices. Tables, References.
