Zusammenfassung:Discussion of findings of a study of year 11 and 12 students in Tasmania with regards to the accuracy of their knowledge about HIV/ AIDS transmission, sexual attitudes and activities, and the extent of their protective behaviours. The gap between intentions and actual safe sex practises demonstrate the 'romantic ethic' and the effects of modern consumerism on adolescents perceptions of intimate relationships. Examines the notions of trust and caring as protection against HIV/AIDS and the implications for preventative health education programs.
