Zusammenfassung: | The rapid economic growth in China has improved the material well-being of the Chinese people, but it also has widened the gap between the rich and poor. Among those who have greatly benefited from economic growth and the transition from a planned to a market economy are private entrepreneurs who form a significant part of the Chinese society. Guiheux explores the growth of private entrepreneurship in China, its contribution to the Chinese economy and how this development led to the Three Represents theory, looks at the various ways entrepreneurs take part in the political arena, and assesses the consequences of this participation. |
