Zusammenfassung: | The effects of cognitive-behavioral & focused visual-imagery group therapy on cognition & depression in 56 frail elderly women residing in 7 nursing homes were examined, & compared with the results of an educational discussion-group approach. Both cross-sectional & longitudinal analyses of pre- & posttest mental status exam & depression scale data reveal that Ss in the 2 therapy groups experienced a significant improvement in cognition, while those in the discussion groups did not; in all 3 interventions, depression remained unaffected. 4 Tables, 40 References.
