Zusammenfassung:Describes the development, implementation, & evaluation of Project CARE (Community Action to Reach the Elderly) in Muncie, IN, developed as part of the National Eldercare Campaign of the Administration on Aging, as a method to help low-income, frail older adults access services in the community. Project development proceeded in three distinct phases, culminating in operation of two advocacy centers in African American neighborhoods. Evaluation of the process & the outcomes was conducted through interviews with 15 administrators, volunteers, & clients involved in the project. Several themes emerged that illustrate the success of the project. Project CARE serves as a model for other communities who have difficulties reaching frail elders in minority neighborhoods. 1 Table, 10 References. Adapted from the source document.
