Zusammenfassung:This is Eric de Leseleuc's reply to David Moscoso's ideas of postmodernity. Leseleuc is careful to preface his remarks by acknowledging that he has no dispute with the core of Moscoso's theoretical ideas, but only with certain difficulties that can be inferred from Moscoso's arguments. Within this context, Leseleuc seeks to clarify Moscoso's use of Marx, which Leseleuc fears could be falsely interpreted as primarily a Marxist argument, especially in sociological terms. According to Leseleuc, Moscoso is not making a Marxist argument, but only taking a brief Marxist tack. Other concerns raised by Leseleuc include the position of Moscoso's argument within the context of the historical academic conflicts & controversies in the field. The article concludes with a discussion of Moscoso's contribution to an understanding of postmodernity. R. Young
