Zusammenfassung: | Argues that members of the community development & environmental movements should work together to establish energy efficiency standards as part of a comprehensive low-income housing development plan. The efforts of the Center for Neighborhood Technology (CNT) in Chicago, IL, provide a good model: CNT conducted 20 personal interviews with low-income housing developers to determine awareness of energy issues, assess energy-related needs, identify obstacles, evaluate efficiency standards, gauge the willingness of developers to work together to meet energy-related needs, & propose strategies. The basic components of an overall plan for developing energy efficiency programs are also discussed. M. Maguire |
