Zusammenfassung: | Interview data are used to examine the importance of social, intellectual, emotional, & physical intimacy among interviews with 45 male residents of a Veterans Affairs nursing home in Richmond, VA. Of the 4 components of intimacy, social intimacy was rated as most important, followed by nonsexual-physical, intellectual, emotional, & sexual-physical intimacy. Social nonsexual-sexual physical, & intellectual intimacy were positively associated with life satisfaction. Enhancement of the quality of life of nursing home residents, measured by social, intellectual, & nonsexual physical interactions, is discussed. 3 Tables, 8 References.
