Zusammenfassung: | The purpose of an analytical framework in the study of child survival is to clarify the understanding of factors involved in the family's production of healthy children so that health policies & strategies can be formulated intelligently. A proximate determinants model is presented that does not simply list the relevant variables, but organizes the seemingly disparate measures of environmental conditions (eg, dietary, reproductive & health care practices, disease states) into a coherent framework in which they are related to each other, to child survival, & to SE factors. The analytical model is seen to imply a major interdisciplinary reorientation in research approaches in this field. 3 Figures, 59 References. S. Karganovic. |
