Zusammenfassung: | Explores how the organizational challenge of work & family obligations are being met in Quebec with the implementation of work-family practices, eg, provisions for dependent care (day care & emergency & referral services), family activity leave plans (maternity leave), individualized employee counseling services, & flexible work scheduling. Questionnaire data gathered in 1993 from 301 organizations with 250+ employees reveal that, while most have implemented some form of work-family practices (most commonly, collective insurance plans, family & personal leaves of absence, & employee counseling services), the rate & scope of implementation overall is greatly varied. Although beneficial impact on the organization is considered marginal by management, implementation represents a positive human resource tool for meeting the needs of mostly white-collar & unionized workers. 3 Tables, 71 References.
