A Multidimensional Index of Financial Stress in the Farm Sector

This study develops a multidimensional measure of financial stress in agriculture using confirmatory factor analysis. By examining the common variation in indicators of financial strees, the study is able to compare the level of financial stress in the 1980's with that of the 1930's.
