Zusammenfassung: | Clinical case examples are used to describe a short-term co-led group therapy model for adult children of alcoholics, designed to help group members improve their self-concept & ability to interact with others. The group's guiding theoretical principles are outlined, & characteristics of suitable group members identified. Successful group processes are discussed, & a variety of common themes explored: intimacy vs intensity, chaos vs excitement, safety vs control, & boredom vs stability. Case vignettes & several viable techniques for group termination are presented. It is concluded that this model has proven able to facilitate both group processes & individual change. 36 References.
