Zusammenfassung:Data collected in 1995 during 50 in-depth interviews with Palestinian-Israeli women who are members of various peace organizations are drawn on to analyze how the marginality of Israeli Arabs, in general, & women, in particular, in Israeli society trickles down into women's peace organizations & how structures shape feminine & civil identity. Contextualizing women's narrative & rendering their cultural & historical specificity illuminates the singularity of their social position, which shapes a different feminist voice -- one that is openly defiant toward the Jewish society but is also critical of its own community. These women's location on the periphery of various social categories -- citizenship, gender, national, & local-community belonging -- that demarcate the boundaries of identity & social affiliation results in multiple voices & solutions. 51 References.
